Huntertones to perform live at Seneca Valley High School 

The Seneca Valley Band Foundation along with support from the PA Council On The Arts is excited to sponsor a performance by the “Huntertones” at Seneca Valley High School on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30pm. The Huntertones are a fresh jazz, pop, fusion group that has come to fame through their innovative and fun videos on Youtube. The group consists of a saxophonist, a trumpeter that doubles on sousaphone, a trombonist that doubles on “beat-boxing” and a three piece rhythm section! That’s right, it is THAT FUN!! You truly need to see and hear them to “get it”. The Huntertones will be spending the day working with SV students and spreading the joy of music. They will finish with an evening concert at 7:30pm in the SV senior high school auditorium. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. It is important that we sell out this event to provide continued support for live music and the arts in our community and school district. Future events can’t take place without your support now!

Campaign Begins!!!!

Well, the campaign to raise funds to purchase new uniforms has begun!!! Letters are in the mail to past donors and to the families of recent alumni. We have received our first donation via Razoo!! Thank you very much! The donation was for one complete uniform. Very generous!!!

School Board Approves Uniforms

Well, it is official! The Seneca Valley School Board approved the purchase of new uniforms at the March 11, 2013 meeting. With school budgets tight, new band uniforms are a pretty amazing thing! The community has pledged to help raise the money. The Band Foundation has pledged $3000 per year for the next three years for a total of $9,000. It is very gratifying to know that we had a role in helping to persuade the school board to invest in the band!!!!

Creative Teaching Grants

Creative Teaching Grant opportunities are offered to all district instrumental faculty. Faculty are invited to apply for funds to promote students' appreciation and study of instrumental music. Creative Teaching Proposals should focus on providing educational experiences not typically covered by the school district budget.
